My mother has been drinking 1 sachet of vegetable soup since last year and has experienced many improvements in her health since. She has also been encouraging me to start on this journey. I finally did so last week.
As a person who value sleep more than breakfast, I am accustomed to start my day on an empty stomach or only with a cup of coffee and 2 biscuits. I have tried hearty breakfasts, but no matter how delicious, any breakfasts before 10am, would taste like cardboard. So I often claim that my stomach is still sleeping. I am also prone to gastric so I tend to have an early lunch and end up over refueling with too much carbohydrates.
The vegetable soup is drank on an empty stomach so that the nutrients from the soup would be ingested and absorbed into the body quickly. Have you heard about the reason about why we should eat fruits and drink soup before the meal? In formal meals, the Western and Chinese always serve soup before the entrees, which is right... But fruits after meals will only cause bloating.
The smell of the vegetable soup is described as pleasant and fresh by many. It is the colour of clear soup, lightly green like the Chinese spinach soup which I enjoy. Unfortunately, I find the smell of the vegetable soup violently nauseating. Especially so given the nature of my stomach in the early mornings. I later learnt that only people with a weak stomach constitution would feel this way.
I have been consuming the vegetable soup every morning for the last 7 days since Monday. In day 1-3, I experienced stomach discomfort, but not pain. As if a lot of things were being moved around my stomach - it must be because I also experienced flatulence. Not the smelly kind, just the noisy ones. Luckily this subsided within the 4th day.
During this period, I was also nursing joint inflammation on my right wrist and a serious blow up of joint inflammation on my left knee. The Chinese physician wrapped me up in a lot of Chinese herbs, and after much probing diagnosis me with rheumatism. Ouch.
The pain in my left knee was so intense, that I was completely unable to bend or straighten my left knee without any pain. But within 3 days, my left knee is good enough to walk without limping or suddenly collapsing on me. Thank goodness.
The usual cycle of the vegetable soup consumption is a 45 day cycle, so I still have more than a month to go on this. I am excited to see what it can do for me. There has been many advice which I have ignored, but as age catches up, taking care of the body from youth is most vital to a fulfilling life .
